About the Center

Shefa Interdisciplinary Pain Center is the first interdisciplinary research and therapeutic interdisciplinary pain center which uses approaches in developed countries.

It has been founded by Professor Mohadjer and Dr. Arab and aims to diagnose pain syndromes and cure patients in any stage of the disease.

Multiple specialties have gathered altogether in order to have a holistic approach towards pain management. Anesthesiology, neurosurgery, internal medicine, orthopedics, psychology, psychiatry, social work, physiotherapy, acupuncture, and sports medicine are the main required fields to be addressed.

Outpatient visits, day care facilities, and inpatient wards are dedicated to the suffering patients in the center.

In case of complicated patients, the pain team takes advantage of consultation with other specialties and sub-specialties and organizes a meeting with invited authorities from other medical centers with the patient present.

Sheaf Inter-Disciplinary Pain Center is the main center curing pain syndromes in veterans, also other non-veteran patients are welcome in the center and are visited by our specialized team. Musculoskeletal pain, low back pain, headache, psychological pain, post operative pain, phantom pain, neuropathic pain, cancer pain, and all other pain syndromes are evaluated and treated in our center.

Unfortunately, accurate statistics are not available regarding pain syndromes in our country and we are trying to gather data and finally to prepare a powerful statistics.

It is obvious that patient cooperation is of utmost importance in the process of diagnosis and treatment. So, we have to optimize patient's understanding regarding his/her disease. The patient has the right to be aware of medicines and various facilities which help curing the disease.

Also, we aim to upgrade educational level of the medical staff who are involved in pain management all over the country. So, annual seminars and congresses are scheduled in our diaries.
